Friday of Lent 5, March 31

What about transhumanism (the combining of your mind with a machine)? What about cloning? What if science discovers a "fountain of youth" to stop aging? Are these ways we can live forever?

Death is the enemy of life, but death is not our problem - sin is. Sin which causes death. Our sin separates us from the God who created and sustains life. So if we want to live forever, sin must be overcome . . . which is what Jesus did for us! We have eternal life in Him. Science can do amazing things, but only in Jesus will we live forever.

For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  ~ 1 Corinthians 15:53-57

PRAY that God would give us wisdom in our use of science and technology, for just because we can do something doesn't mean we should!

PLAN to attend church on Easter (and every Sunday, for that matter!) to celebrate Jesus' victory over sin and death and to receive from Him the life you need.

Dear Jesus, thank You for giving me life, and thank You for giving me eternal life through Your death and resurrection. Help me look to You for all I need, now and forever. Amen.
