Monday of Lent 5, March 27

Many people commit suicide. The legalization of assisted suicide is growing, and the reasons for allowing it are growing. What of that?

First of all, if you are thinking of suicide or harming yourself, get help NOW! Call 988 right away. Talk to someone.

God does not want anyone to take life - their own included. People look to death as an answer to their physical pain, emotional pain, or mental pain. But instead of looking to death for the answer, look to the one who is life - your Saviour Jesus! You are worth so much to Him that He died for you. That means you're pretty valuable! Go to a church, talk to a pastor. Even if you don't know it or feel it, you matter and are important!

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.  ~ John 10:10

Turn, O Lord, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love.  ~ Psalm 6:4

ACTIVITY: Tell someone today that you love them, and how important they are to you. That just might make all the difference to them today!

LISTEN to the hymn If Thou But Trust in God to Guide Thee. (Click here to follow along with the words.) Know this hymn is about you and for you!

Dear Jesus, help me when the troubles of this life seem overwhelming. Help me turn to You in any and every need. Use me to help others for whom life is difficult. And stop the hands of all raised up to take a life, even their own. Amen.
